Habitar o Vazio| Inhabit the Void

Recebo frases. Ás vezes, em forma de música, outras apenas aparecem flutuando no ar. Habitar o Vazio me veio depois de uma sessão de meditação, influenciada pelo livro "O Barco Vazio", de Osho, onde ele analiza historias taoístas de Chuang Tse. O conceito de vacuidade vem do zen budismo, que acredita no vazio de um "eu", onde existe uma conexão entre todas as coisas. A partir dessa frase, comecei a procurar por seu significado. A primeira coisa que encontrei foi um livro homônimo, do poeta e artista chinês Wang Wei, escrito nos anos 700 d.C., sobre influencia do budismo. A coincidência me surpreendeu, pois não o conhecia. Usei esse argumento para participar da residência "Entre Nós", organizada pela OÁ Galeria, no mosteiro zen budista Alto da Vargem, em Ibiraçu, Espírito Santo. Ali, com o livro de poesia em mãos, desenvolvi a pesquisa dessa instalação, uma bandeira 3D com os dizeres "habitar o vazio" bordados em uma fina linha, como se estivessem flanando. A forma piramidal em bambu remete a geometria sagrada, sendo o triângulo um símbolo de transição entre a perfeição do círculo e a multiplicidade do quadrado.

I get phrases. Sometimes, in the form of music, others it just appear floating in the air. Inhabiting the Void came to me after a meditation session, influenced by Osho's book "The Empty Boat", where he analyzes Chuang Tse's Taoist stories. The concept of emptiness comes from Zen Buddhism, which believes in the emptiness of an "I", where there is a connection between all things. From that phrase, I started looking for its meaning. The first thing I found was a book of the same name, by the Chinese poet and artist Wang Wei, written in the 700s A.D., by the influence of Buddhism. The coincidence surprised me, because I didn't know him. I used this argument to participate in the residence "Entre Nós", organized by OÁ Galeria, at Zen Buddhist monastery Alto da Vargem, in Ibiraçu, Espírito Santo. There, with the poetry book in hand, I developed the research for this installation, a 3D flag with the words "inhabit the void" embroidered in a thin line, as if they were floating. The pyramidal shape in bamboo refers to sacred geometry, the triangle being a symbol of transition between the perfection of the circle and the multiplicity of the square.
